It is true that too many "witless
writers" can not rightly or even reasonably reflect as a reporter those of
us who have a vibrant valued relationship with our Creator. Olasky's
case-in-point, Chris Matthews' journalistic ignorance is valid, despite
Matthews' own Catholic background. Evangelical leaders may be declining in
power to influence the Values Voters. If so, it is only a marginal decline at
this point in the presidential election cycle. It may be more precipitous after
January 2009. Too many moderate conservatives participate in leadership
selection, POTUS, every 4 years and are MIA during the local political party
organizations in between. I was surprised that Olasky's analysis turns mostly
on money – “got it”or “get it”. Marvin, this is the primary. Political history
for statewide and national elections would reveal that the early monied
candidate is not always the nominee. To be sure if a national candidate is
going to get air time or ink space from the MSM he needs to pay the bill when
placing his media buy (no credit, no bill me, no trust me, I'm good for it).
Ironically, that same money principle is the one that works in a school board
election. It is to the shame of the national evangelical leadership
organizations that they are not influencing school board elections. Imagine if
the public schools begin to train and educate our future citizens with the
vision and values that makes America
great and godly once again! Frankly,
I would like to hear on the same platform Republicans (not RINOs) discuss,
debate and direct their national vision and values. I would expect it to be
inspiring to hear Dr Alan Keyes, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and
former United States Senator Fred Thompson focus on the political question,
"Who gets what, where, when, why and how" because of the faith
principles I hold near and dear? "River Rising Review - The Venue for
